PROVIDE KEYWORDS

Keywords should capture the most important aspects of your site and what is specific about each category within your site. Your categories may have many of the same keywords, but the set of keywords chosen for each category should uniquely capture each category.

In many ways keywords are the most important part of a web site’s success in being found by search engines. People find websites by inputting a few keywords or phrases into search engines like Yahoo and Google. It is important that your web site match the most common keywords and phrases that people use for the service that you are selling.

The home page is not the only page with keywords associated with it. Most websites contain logical sections which have different sets of keywords associated with them. For example, if you are a real estate site, you may have one section on commercial properties and another on homes. Naturally these different sections should have different keywords because they are dealing with different products and appealing to different audiences. Generally these logical sections can be associated with doorway pages for that section of the site. LinkDriver will use the category keywords in the doorway pages that it generates for each category.

The keywords you enter here will not replace keywords you may already have in your site (within the <META> tags of the <HEAD> section of your HTML page).

While not all search engines use the metadata keywords from a site, they are nevertheless very important in confirming the content of a website and individual pages. It is also important to make sure that you do not put in keywords which do not match the content in your site. Many search engines will consider this a form of spam and will reject the submission. NEVER USE KEYWORDS such as "money, free money, get rich, sex, free cash, business opp". These are generally banned from major search engines as potential spam.

LinkDriver can use keywords in a variety of ways to help more people find your site. You will need to provide LinkDriver with primary and secondary keywords for each category that you have defined. Separate keywords using commas.

Primary keywords are the five or six words that most clearly define the category you are describing. These keywords should be specific, and should reflect what makes your content special and unique. Generally, you should not enter industry keywords in this box.

Secondary keywords are other words that are important in describing your site content, but they may be more generic in nature. The secondary keywords list should contain a combination of specific, generic and industry keywords.
